Terms and Conditions

  1. General
    Welcome to Woodenways (Pty) Ltd.
    By using our website or purchasing from Woodenways, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
    These Terms apply to all purchases made online, in-store, or through one of our consultants.
    Woodenways reserves the right to update these Terms at any time without prior notice.
  2. Products
    Woodenways specialises in handcrafted furniture manufactured from natural materials including solid oak, kiaat, veneers, leather and premium fabrics.
    Because these are natural materials, each product is unique.
    Natural variations in:
    timber grain
    colour
    knots
    texture
    leather markings
    stitching
    dimensions
    are normal characteristics and are not regarded as defects.
    Timber naturally expands and contracts with seasonal humidity and temperature changes. Small cracks, movement and colour changes are part of the character of solid timber furniture.
    Product photography is intended as a guide only. Colours may vary depending on lighting, natural materials and screen settings.
  3. Orders are confirmed only once Woodenways has received the required payment or deposit.
    Woodenways reserves the right to decline or cancel any order prior to production where pricing errors, stock shortages or other circumstances occur.
    Ownership of all goods remains with Woodenways until payment has been received in full.
  4. Lead Times
    Estimated lead times are:
    In-stock products
    7–28 business days
    Locally manufactured furniture
    6–10 weeks
    Imported or specially sourced products
    8–12 weeks
    These lead times are estimates only.
    Woodenways cannot be held responsible for delays caused by suppliers, shipping delays, strikes, weather events, power interruptions or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
    Should a delay occur, customers will be kept informed.
  5. Custom & Made-to-Order Furniture
    Custom-made, made-to-order and specially sourced products are manufactured or procured specifically for each customer.
    Production commences immediately once the deposit has been received.
    Accordingly:
    deposits are strictly non-refundable
    orders cannot be cancelled
    specifications cannot be changed once production has commenced
    custom products cannot be returned
    custom products cannot be exchanged
    custom products cannot be refunded
    Customers are responsible for ensuring that all dimensions, finishes, timber selections, fabrics, leather choices and specifications are correct before confirming their order.
  6. Payment
    Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
    full payment is required before delivery or collection
    deposits form part of the purchase price
    all invoices must be settled before goods leave our warehouse
    Lay-by arrangements must be paid in full within three months unless otherwise agreed.
  7. Delivery
    Deliveries are arranged in advance with customers.
    Customers are responsible for ensuring that:
    access to the property is suitable
    doorways
    staircases
    lifts
    passageways
    are sufficient for the furniture ordered.
    Where delivery cannot be completed due to access restrictions, additional delivery charges may apply.
    Customers should inspect all goods upon delivery.
    Visible damage or shortages must be reported within 48 hours.
    Once goods have been collected by the customer or a third-party transporter, responsibility passes to the customer.
  8. Storage
    Should a customer delay delivery for more than 14 days after being notified that goods are ready for dispatch, Woodenways reserves the right to charge reasonable storage fees.
  9. Returns
    Because every order is carefully manufactured or selected for each customer, Woodenways does not accept returns due to:
    change of mind
    incorrect colour selection by the customer
    incorrect size ordered
    natural variations in timber or leather
    normal wear and tear
    Returns may only be considered where required by South African consumer legislation or where Woodenways has supplied goods incorrectly or with a manufacturing defect.
  10. Refunds & Store Credit
    Woodenways does not provide cash refunds for products correctly supplied in accordance with the customer's order.
    Where a return is accepted, Woodenways may, at its sole discretion:
    repair the product
    replace the product
    replace the defective component
    issue store credit
    Store credit is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
    Deposits paid on custom-made, made-to-order or specially sourced products are strictly non-refundable.
  11. Warranty
    Woodenways warrants its products against manufacturing defects for a period of 12 months unless otherwise stated.
    Where a valid manufacturing defect exists, Woodenways may:
    repair the product
    replace defective components
    replace the product
    issue store credit
    This warranty does not cover:
    normal wear
    misuse
    accidental damage
    incorrect cleaning
    exposure to sunlight
    excessive moisture
    fireplaces or heat damage
    commercial use unless specified
    natural movement of timber
    fading of leather or fabric
    Transport relating to warranty assessments may be charged where appropriate.
    Sale, clearance and floor-stock items are sold as displayed unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  12. Limitation of Liability
    To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Woodenways shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of its products or services.
    Our liability shall never exceed the purchase price of the product concerned.
  13. Privacy
    Woodenways respects your privacy.
    Personal information is collected only for the purpose of processing orders, arranging deliveries and communicating with customers.
    We do not sell personal information.
    Information may be shared only with trusted service providers such as payment processors, logistics partners and website providers where necessary to fulfil your order.
    Personal information is processed in accordance with POPIA.
  14. Governing Law
    These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
    Any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
